collaborations

collaborations let me step outside myself. through working with other artists, i'm able to become part of their language, as they in turn become part of mine. mediums are explored that are often outside my typical realm of expression -- sculptors become painters, painters become poets, dancers become writers. often the line between "whose idea was that, who drew that line or who said that word" becomes blurred. the distinction between my art and their art is erased - a combined artist is created. trust is essential in collaborating. trust in one's own language and trust in the other artists.
